About the Opportunity
Buddy Advisory is delighted to be partnering with a leading boutique technology consultancy to hire a Business Development Lead - Technology Services. This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape and lead the sales function, with a focus on building pipeline, winning new clients, and driving sustainable growth.
You’ll work alongside an expert delivery team across modernisation, data, and AI, positioning high-impact consulting engagements to mid-market organisations
The Role
This is a fully accountable, end-to-end sales role for a proven solutions seller who excels in shaping opportunities from scratch and driving results independently. You'll be responsible for:
Generating and converting your own pipeline
Owning the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, qualification, solution shaping, commercials, and close
Leading consultative, multi-stakeholder sales engagements across technology and business audiences
Selling complex services across legacy modernisation, data platforms, AI/ML, and emerging agentic capabilities
Building and embedding foundational sales capability (CRM, pipeline discipline, reporting, sales operations)
Partnering closely with delivery and leadership to shape compelling, outcome-driven solutions
Ideal Profile
Senior solutions seller from a boutique or mid-sized digital/technology consultancy
Strong track record of landing new logos (rather than purely account expansion)
Experience selling complex, high-value consulting/technology services engagements (not transactional or product-led sales)
Proven ability to build pipeline and comfort owning the entire sales process end-to-end
Experience across one or more of: software modernisation, data platforms, AI/ML, or emerging AI-driven solutions
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build structure where none exists
Melbourne/Greater-Melbourne-based
